SUBMITTAL SHEET: SEISMIC VENEER ANCHORS

Heckmann Building Products offers a variety of veneer anchors which conform to the requirements of the ACI 530 Building Code Requirements for Masonry Structures for seismic zones. The code requires the veneer wall to have a continuous wire imbedded in the mortar joint in high seismic zones. This wire is then connected to the veneer anchor which is attached to the backup structure. The Seismic System allows greater stability, safeguards against problems caused by thermal expansion and contraction, and provides uniform distribution of the lateral forces.

A SEISMIC TAB NOTCH CAN BE PROVIDED FOR ANY FLAT HECKMANN ANCHOR UP TO 1/8” (3.17 mm) THICK.  Below are examples of flat anchors with the seismic tab:

#370 Seismic Hook Tab: 22 gage clip welded to #316 Triangle Ties, #282 Double Pintle Wire Ties, Pos-I-Tie® Wire Ties, #314 Tie Clips, or any 3/16” dia. (4.76 mm) wire tie. Holds wire wall reinforcement or pencil rod for seismic zone applications.  IBC requires a single wire joint reinforcement in the veneer for Seismic Zones D, E, and F.
