Ceiling Hangers
CAST-IN-PLACE CONCRETE

Heckmann Ceiling Hangers are the convenient and reliable way to suspend ceilings and lightweight fixtures from concrete slabs. Other methods require difficult and dirty overhead drilling, or rely on powder-actuated fasteners which can damage concrete. Hangers are typically spaced 2 ft. (610 mm) o.c. to allow for flexible layout of ceilings.

Use #444 Threaded Inserts to support heavier loads.
The Pos-I-Tie® Tapcon® can be used as a ceiling hanger in existing concrete.

No. 460 Nailer Ceiling Inserts:

Install by driving points of insert into wood forms. When forms are stripped, the 5/16" (7.9 mm) diameter hole projects below concrete slab. Fabricated of 14 gage mill galvanized steel with overall dimensions 1" (25.4 mm) wide x 2-3/16" (55.5 mm) high. Average pullout 1,259 lbs.

No. 461 Ceiling Hanger Insert:

Economical to use, simply nail or tape inserts to forms for either precast or cast-in-place concrete. Shells allow ceiling suspension wires to be looped over wire clips embedded in concrete. Shell is 26 gage galvanized steel. Wire clip is 3/16" (4.76 mm) dia. galvanized wire. Use with 1/4" (6.35 mm) dia. maximum hanger wires or pencil rods. Average pullout 1,905 lbs.

PRECAST CONCRETE
V-Type inserts can be set in joints of precast slabs which have keyways between slabs. T-Type inserts can be set in joints of precast slabs with square edges. For consistent installation, use tape to hold inserts in place until adjacent slabs are placed. Standard inserts are 14 gage mill galvanized steel. Also available in custom sizes.

No. 486 V-Type:

9" (229 mm) long x 1" (25.4 mm) wide with two 3/8" (9.5 mm) diameter holes. "V" is 5/8" (16 mm) long x 1/4" (6.35 mm) deep centered 5/8" (16 mm) from top.

No. 488 T-Type:

6" (152 mm) long x 1" (25.4 mm) wide with one 3/8" (9.5 mm) diameter hole. Horizontal flanges are each 2" (51 mm) long.

No. 487 Double V-Type:

9-1/2" (241 mm) long x 1" (25.4 mm) wide with two 3/8" (9.5 mm) diameter holes. "V's" are spaced 1-3/8" (35 mm) o.c. starting 5/8" (16 mm) from top.
